The Whiston Town Council held the Community recognition awards on Saturday the 14th of March 2026 at Whiston Town Hall. The event recognised the ongoing efforts and contributions from a variety of Community groups, charities and the volunteers who give their time to contribute to their success.
The current Mayor Jo Burke had the pleasure in presenting awards to the nominees over the course of the afternoon. Everyone attending the afternoon articulated how thrilled they were to be a part of such a community event. The donations from the Mayor to these community groups, alongside individual recognition awards, celebrated the achievement of Whiston as a thriving, vibrant community.
The day was rounded off with some light refreshments, sandwiches and cake which was well received by all,. A number of individuals commented on what a special day it had been, with many looking forward to the next Mayoral engagement.
