JUBILEE EVENTS
Since being elected Whiston Town Mayor in May 2022, Councillor Marianne Burke-Thompson has been busy attending various events to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. Events took place at Whiston Town Hall, the George Howard Centre and the Robert Foulkes Centre.



VOLUNTEERS' EVENT
On Tuesday 7th June, Councillor Burke-Thompson attended the Volunteers'Annual Awards at the Robert Foulkes Centre, celebrating the invaluable work carried out by volunteers at St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals.
PRESCOT FESTIVAL OF MUSIC - Friday 17th June 2022
On Friday 17th June, the Mayor, along with consort Pat Cooke attended the Prescot festival of music at Prescot Parish Church which they thoroughly enjoyed.
WHISTON VILLAGE SHOP - Friday 17th June 2022
Councillor Burke-Thompson attended the official opening of a new Costcutters Store which opened in Whiston Village. She is pictured here with store owner, Phil Dickson and store manager Tracy McDonnell.

HALEWOOD TOWN COUNCIL, MAYOR'S EVENT -
Friday 24th June 2022
Councillor Burke-Thompson attended a charity fund-raising event arranged by Halewood Mayor, Cllr Barbara Dunn. Her consort for the evening was Margaret Harding-Sherpherd
On Saturday 25th June, Councillor Burke-Thompson attended the Prescot Festival of Music and Arts concert, held at Whiston Town Hall. Her consort for the evening was Mrs Elizabeth Burke.
The evening was a huge success. There was a wonderful array of songs from Liverpool based musicals, performed by BOST, which had the audience clapping for more.

The annual presentation of awards by Whiston Juniors Football Club took place at Whiston Town Hall on Sunday 26th June. Councillor Marianne Burke-Thompson, along with her consort, her nephew Mackenzie Burke, attended the event. Cllr. Burke-Thompson said "It was a pleasure to have been invited to speak and present awards to the club, who play an integral part in our community through their dedication and determination."
HALSNEAD SCHOOL CELEBRATION
Halsnead school celebrated its 150 years anniversary on Thursday 30th June 2022. The school organised a fun day for pupils - past and present, and invited the wider community to join in the fun events and activities. The event was also attended by deputy Mayor Councillor J Mimnagh and Councillor J. A. Parker.





Our Town Mayor, Cllr Marianne Burke-Thompson, along with her consort Mrs Mary Tabron, was honoured to have attended and give a reading at the Remembrance Service at St Nicholas Church on Sunday. Alongside servicemen, police, church members, Whiston 1st Scouts, local residents, fellow Councillors and representatives from Whiston Town Council, Councillor Burke-Thompson laid a wreath on behalf of all those at Whiston Town Council. The service was, as always, a fine tribute, conducted by the Reverend Andy Telfer and his fellow clergy and members. Lest We Forget.
