I am delighted to inform you that the Knowsley Flower Show celebrates its 25th birthday this year. We would like to thank all our regular growers for exhibiting in 2022 and making the event very special.
I have pleasure in enclosing our 2023 show schedule/entry form. We so hope you can grow for our show this year.
We are appealing to as many growers, gardeners, and allotment holders as possible, to enter this year’s Show ensuring that the Floral Marquee will once again be a blaze of colour. Hopefully you will enter again, but if you are not planning to do so we would be grateful if you could pass this schedule on to any friends or family who may be interested. Telephone entries are welcome by calling our Show Secretary Chris Yates on 0151 480 8666 by Friday 4th August by 8pm or by emailing her on Chrisyates49@gmail.com or ringing her mobile on 07411 447453.
The flower which celebrates a 25th anniversary is the Iris, so this year we would like to light up our website with photos of Iris growing in your gardens. The growing season is from early Spring for the low growing Reticulata varieties to early Summer for the Bearded and Siberian types. They provide a rainbow of colour before the summer perennials arrive, so get busy with your camera or smart phone and brighten up our website. Send your image through to Katy.McLoughlin@knowsley.gov.uk and we will include it on our website www.knowsleyflowershow.com
Please be aware anyone can enter the show, it doesn’t matter where you live, there are over 100 classes to consider; you do not need experience to enter, there are novice classes to enter and our Show Secretary is more than happy to guide you through the steps.
